The Maribeth Merrigan Foundation is a charitable organization founded by the Merrigan family in memory of Maribeth, who died of a rare form of cancer at the age of 24. The Foundation's mission is to honor Maribeth's memory through sponsorship and donations to educational endeavors, cancer research and cancer patient support. Our mission is intended to support the goals and priorities Maribeth held dear in life, while also contributing to the search for a cure for the disease that took Maribeth from us.


Statistics:

•An estimated 1.4 Million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in 2008

•24% of them are from the ages of 18 to 64

•13% of American children had no health insurance coverage for at least part of 2006

•14% of Americans ages 44 to 64 are uninsured


Foundation Highlights:

•120 Golfers participated in the  sold out golf event

•Over 175 donations were made  ranging from $50 to $10,000

•In 2007 the MBM Foundation made  the following donations:

            ◦ $105,000 donated to the  Maribeth Merrigan Patient Assistance Fund

            ◦ $40,000 donated to the  Maribeth Merrigan Scholarship

            ◦ $5,000 donated to Ovarian Cancer Research

Since it’s inception, the MBM Foundation has donated over $650,000 to its identified missions.
